Superstar Akshay Kumar, who is going all out to promote his upcoming social-drama film, Pad Man, will remake the successful Tamil horror-comedy flick Kanchana 2. The actor will play the lead character in it. It will be his second horror comedy film after Bhool Bhulaiya, a Priyadarshan directorial which hit screens in 2007.
Kanchana 2, directed by Raghava Lawrence, released in 2015. Starring Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and Kovai Sarala in prominent roles, the movie inflamed the box office and went on to rake in over INR 100 crores domestically.

Akshay Kumar has an interesting lineup of films scheduled to arrive in cinemas in 2018. After Pad Man, he will be seen in Shankar's mega-budgeted 2.0, also starring Rajinikanth. Then he has Reema Kagti's Gold, slated to release on 15th August.
Besides these films, Kumar also has Kesari and Housefull 4 in his kitty. Both films are scheduled to release in 2019.
