Taapsee Pannu in talks to star in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyan!

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who is currently basking in the success of her recently released comic-caper Judwaa 2 with Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez, is reportedly in talks with the makers of the upcoming film, Manmarziyan.

Manmarziyan is the same film which was initially announced with Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana after the release of their critically and commercially successful film Dum Laga Ke Haisha in the year 2015. The two even shot the first schedule of the film together.

However, the project got stuck due to some reasons and then, after some time, reports came that it has been stalled for an indefinite period. But according to latest reports, the makers are planning to revive their much-delayed project by roping in a new place instead of Bhumi.

Anurag Kashyap, who has been entrusted with the responsibility of helming the project, has reportedly approached Taapsee Pannu to play the female protagonist in the movie. The actress has yet not responded affirmatively. She is currently in Lucknow and may take the final call after coming back to Mumbai.

Interestingly, not just the female lead, the film has seen a change in its director also. For those who don’t know, Manmarziyan was initially offered to Sameer Sharma of Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana fame. But the director opted out of the project owing to some creative difference. The film then went to Nil Battey Sannata fame Ashwiny-Iyer Tiwari. She too walked out of the film to direct Bareilly Ki Barfi with Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao. Producer Anand L Rai then signed the current director of the film, Anurag Kashyap.
