Sooraj Pancholi on playing a soldier in Satellite Shankar: It’s a dream come true

Sooraj Pancholi made his debut with Salman Khan’s production venture Hero in 2015. Now, after four years the actor will return to the big screen with the film Satellite Shankar. We recently met Sooraj and spoke to him about the film and why such a huge gap between his debut movie and the second film.

When asked why he took a gap of four years to be back on the silver screen, Sooraj said, “I didn’t get the scripts I wanted. I wanted to do touching and real films, I wanted to do performance-oriented films. Also, because I had some personal difficulties, but I am here now and everything has its own time and I am here with Satellite Shankar.”

Sooraj plays the role of a soldier in the movie and he says that it’s a dream come true for him. The actor said, “It’s a dream come true. I always wanted to do an army film. I didn’t know if it was based on war or action, but I had this that once I have to wear this vardi (uniform). And once I wore this vardi, from the time I started my shot, from the time I got out of my dressing room till the time I took the clothes and folded it up, I had immense respect for soldiers and immense respect for the uniform. It made me feel like I was wearing the best superhero costume in the entire world.”

When the trailer of the film was released, Salman Khan has tweeted and praised it. When asked how it feels to get support from the superstar, Sooraj said, “It feels nice because he is a legend and anything I say about him is less. He has always been there for us and I hope he continues to be there for us.”

Directed by Irfan Kamal, Satellite Shankar is slated to release on 8th November 2019.
