Sanya Malhotra on Shakuntala Devi and Ludo getting direct-to-digital release

Before the lockdown was announced, Sanya Malhotra was gearing up for the release of her films Ludo and Shakuntala Devi. The former was slated to hit the screens in April, and the latter was supposed to release in May.

However, now both films will be getting a direct-to-digital release. While many actors would prefer that their film gets a theatrical release, Sanya is excited for her the digital release of her movies.

A couple of days ago, the trailer of Shakuntala Devi was released and Sanya had impressed us with her performance in it. Recently, while talking about the movies, Sanya told a news agency, “This is a very exciting time for me, first the trailer of Shakuntala Devi was released and then release of Ludo on Netflix was announced.”

“The response that I’m getting for the trailer, as well as the announcement regarding Ludo, is overwhelming. I’ve been flooded with congratulatory calls from family and friends since yesterday and I’m happy with how both announcements lined up together. With back-to-back good news, it’s always more the merrier, especially while we are stuck in lockdown,” she added.

Shakuntala Devi will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 31st July 2020, and the release date of Ludo is not yet announced by Netflix.

Well, apart from these two films Sanya also has Paglait in her kitty. The actress was last seen in the 2019 release Photograph. Though the film had received critical acclaim, it failed to make a mark at the box office.
