Veteran actress Shabana Azmi and her husband Javed Akhtar were traveling from Mumbai-Pune Expressway and unfortunately, their car has met with an accident. The accident took place near Khalapur and the actress has been severely injured.
The accident took place around 3:30 pm. The actress’ car rammed into a truck on the highway. Raigad Police has issued a statement about the accident which reads, "Shabana Azmi and her driver were injured in an accident near Khalapur on Pune-Mumbai Expressway. While they were driving from Pune to Mumbai their vehicle hit by a truck on the expressway. Javed Akhtar was also present in the car who is safe. Both the injured have been shifted to MGM Hospital."
A few pictures of Shabana Azmi post the accident have been doing the rounds of social media. Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor took to Twitter to request the media not to use such pictures.
Varun tweeted, “To all my dear friends in the media if someone has met with an accident please do not splash their pictures all over it can be extremely distressing to their family and loved ones.This is just a humble request thank you.”
Shraddha tweeted, “This is a request to all our friends in the media if someone has met with an accident please don’t put up those photos.Please have some empathy and sensitivity and think how distressing this can be to their family members and loved ones.Please take it down immediately.Thank you.”
We hope that the veteran actress is fine and recovers soon.
