Ed Sheeran returns to India for his second concert after 7 years

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who is in India for his second concert tour, spent the first day of his India trip on Tuesday by visiting a school and playing music for young children here.

The 33-year-old singer's concert, part of his "+ - = ÷ x Tour", is slated to take place this Saturday in Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds, Mumbai.

"So I just arrived in Mumbai, India. We're going to be visiting some schools today and playing some songs. I heard the kids have something to play for me as well," Sheeran said in a video on his Instagram account.

During his trip to the school, the singer is seen sitting in the crowd and enjoying the performance of young children before taking up his guitar and playing "Shape of You" for his young audience.

The concert on Saturday will begin at 3 pm with the performance of Prateek Kuhad and Calum Scott. Sheeran will take over the stage at 7:15 pm.

Sheeran, who had earlier visited the country in 2017, said he was happy to be back.

"Visited a school in Mumbai this morning and swapped performances with the kids, so much fun. Great being back in India too," he captioned the video.

'Doctor Who' gets a 2026 Christmas lifeline as BBC ends Disney+ partnership

Highlights:

  • A new Doctor Who Christmas special is confirmed for 2026, written by Russell T Davies.
  • The BBC’s global partnership with Disney+ has ended after two seasons.
  • The BBC says it’s “fully committed” and will announce full series plans later.
  • Spin-off ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea’ and a CBeebies animation are still on the way.

Looks like the Doctor will be making another Christmas stop. The BBC says Doctor Who will return in 2026 with a festive special, a quiet way of telling fans the TARDIS isn’t going anywhere, even as its deal with Disney+ ends.

The announcement ends months of speculation about the sci-fi institution, which hasn't been on screen since Ncuti Gatwa’s final episode in May, which ended with the surprise appearance of Billie Piper. The special will be written by showrunner Russell T Davies, but the big news is the end of the Disney+ deal, which had handled the show’s distribution outside the UK since 2022.
