Indians suffer singles slump

YOUNGSTER Ramkumar Ramanthan fought his heart out before losing a tight second round singles match while Purav Raja and Divij Sharan bowed out in the men’s doubles first round of the Wimbledon qualifiers last week. Up against German 21st seed and world number 130, the 21-year-old Indian lost 6-7(5) 6-7(3),bringing the curtains down on India’s challenge in the singles qualifying event.
