Prabhas on learning Hindi for Saaho: A lot of preparation went into it

Prabhas is a big name down South, but thanks to Baahubali franchise he is now a household name across the nation. The actor is currently busy with the shooting of his next Saaho which is a multilingual film being shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The actor is quite well-versed with Tamil and Telugu but speaking Hindi wasn’t a cakewalk for him.

Recently, while talking to a daily, Prabhas opened up on what preparations he did to get his Hindi right. The actor said, "Saaho will cater to audiences across the nation with its story and setting. It is not difficult, but Hindi is not my first language. So, a lot of preparation went into it. I can read and write the language, but we don’t speak in Hindi at home."

"I have done a lot of homework for it and Soni (my teacher) conducted dialogue classes for more than a month. The first schedule was tough for me, but from the second one, it got better. I will only be dubbing for it in Hindi,” he added.

For the Hindi version of Baahubali and Baahubali 2, it was actor Sharad Kelkar who had dubbed for Prabhas.

Saaho also stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role and the makers have given us a few glimpses of action in the film with the series of videos titled Shades Of Saaho. Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho is slated to release on 15th August 2019.

Shocking casting couch confessions that reveal how Bollywood exploitation has evolved

5 brave women who called out Bollywood’s casting couch

You know what’s worse than silence? The kind of silence that sounds like applause. Applause for a director who’s known for "launching careers." Praise for a superstar who’s worshipped on-screen but whispers vile things off it. This is the silence that kept Bollywood’s casting couch culture alive for decades.

Forget the dance numbers and the dreamy close-ups. Strip away the sequins, and you often find something ugly festering in Bollywood's shadows. An ugly tradition that’s still thriving. It’s not new. It’s not gone.
