Parineeti Chopra: There’s only one original Desi Girl and nobody else can take her place

We all know that Priyanka Chopra is called the Desi Girl of Bollywood. She got this tag after she danced on the song Desi Girl in the film Dostana. PeeCee’s cousin sister, Parineeti Chopra is currently busy with the promotions of Jabariya Jodi. In the posters of the film and even in the trailer, we can see Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti in desi avatars.

Recently, the two attended an event to launch the song Zilla Hilela from the film. At the event, Parineeti was asked if she is the new Desi Girl of Bollywood, to which the actress said, “In this industry and in this world there’s only one Desi Girl (Priyanka Chopra). I don’t even want to try, but yes, we both are very desi in this film. I just want to say one thing, there’s only one original Desi Girl and nobody else can take her place.”

When asked if we will get to see her and Priyanka in a film together, Parineeti said, “Of course, if the script is correct then definitely we would love to do a film together. I had recently stated that we would love to do an action film. We talk about it a lot that we should do something together.”

Parineeti and Priyanka are quite close to each other and we have seen that the former has great respect for her sister.

Talking about their individual movies, apart from Jabariya Jodi, Parineeti has movies like Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Saina Nehwal biopic, The Girl On The Train remake and Bhuj: The Pride of India in her kitty.

Meanwhile, Priyanka is all set for a Bollywood comeback with Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink which is slated to release on 11th October 2019. The movie also stars Zaira Wasim and Farhan Akhtar. PeeCee is also planning a biopic on Ma Anand Sheela, but it will be an international project. We are sure fans of Priyanka are keen to see her in more Bollywood movies.
