A biopic on legendary Bollywood actress Madhubala in the works

After churning out scores of biopics on sportsmen and dreaded gangsters, Bollywood is now shifting gears towards the members of its own family. It is picking up popular names from the industry to make biopics on them.

After the runaway success of Sanju, which is based on the eventful life of actor Sanjay Dutt, we hear a biopic on legendary Bollywood actress Madhubala is in the works. Yes, the news has been confirmed by none other than Madhur Brij Bhushan, the younger sister of the late actress.

Not revealing much about the project and its cast, Bhushan said that the biopic of her sister is being produced by some “dear friends”.

In a statement, she said, “I am going in for a biopic on my sister, which will be produced by my very dear friends, very soon. It’s my humble request to all the well-wishers of Madhubala and whosoever is connected with Bollywood or elsewhere to please not attempt a biopic or anything else based on my sister’s life without my permission.”

“The details will be known to her fans and to all concerned when the right time comes. So, please try to avoid any kind of unpleasant situation,” she added.

Who do you think will be perfect to play Madhubala on the silver screen?

For audiences, such edits can appear credible at first glance. When a well-known face is integrated into promotional material, the assumption of endorsement often follows. Without clear consent, that assumption risks misleading consumers while benefiting from the celebrity’s influence.
