Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up about criticism that Kabir Singh faced

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh is the highest-grossing film of the year to date. The film received mixed reviews and was also criticised for showing toxic masculinity. A few moviegoers were also not happy with Kiara Advani’s character Pretty.

While many celebs have given their opinion on the criticism the film faced, Kareena Kapoor Khan has also now spoken about it. While talking to a portal, Kareena said, “I haven’t seen the film. But clearly it hasn’t affected anything because the movie has made over 300 crores. So, it’s a double-edged sword. Because there are people who are actually going to watch it and have found something that they love. Otherwise, it is not possible for it to have done so well. But I’m happy that people are talking about it and if you ask me, I don’t personally believe in a character like that because that’s not me as a person. But at the end of the day, it’s a film and it has worked.”

“But I’m happy that people are talking about things and they want their voice to be heard. But they clearly are outnumbered by the people who have loved the film. That’s the reality which is sad,” the actress added.

Talking about Kareena’s movies, the actress was last seen on the big screen in last year’s release Veere Di Wedding. It was her first movie post her maternity break and it turned out to be a super hit at the box office. She will next be seen on the big screen in Good News which is slated to release in December this year. She also has Angrezi Medium and Takht in her kitty.

Meanwhile, after Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor has not yet signed any film. Reportedly, he will be seen in the remake of South film Jersey.
