In terms of viewing figures, Indian television has overtaken Bollywood, and now thanks to forward-thinking actors like Anil Kapoor, it is getting a global sensibility. With the Indian remake of hit US drama 24, the star has not only popularised finite series on TV in the country, but also raised the standards in terms of production values, and prompted others to look internationally for inspiration.
