Alia Bhatt will be paired opposite Vicky Kaushal for the first time in the upcoming film Raazi. The film is helmed by Meghna Gulzar.
The film is an adaptation from Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat. During an interview with a leading Indian tabloid, Vicky Kaushal was asked about his preparation for Raazi, the actor said, "Even if a film is adapted from a real incidence, the director remains your one point reference. As an actor, you have to surrender to their vision and that is what I tend to do with every film. I have learnt to give myself completely to the director and to essay the character assigned with utmost honesty."
Talking about his experience working with Alia and Meghna, Vicky said, "They all such great individuals; I had a ball of a time working with them. Meghna is one of the warmest individuals I have ever come across. Alia is one of the most amazing actors today. She is spontaneous and organic as an actor and really honest, humble about her work."
Earlier, during an interview, Alia Bhatt revealed about her preparation for her role in Raazi, she said, "I'm going through one of the most extensive preparations for this film. The last time I did something like this, was for Udta Punjab. But that also was only with the dialect. Raazi is about dialect, body language and things like driving a big heavy jeep... Shifting those gears is a different ball game for me altogether. I am learning Urdu so it's also going to help me in the longer run. I'm playing with the language for over a month now and every day, I am sitting with it for hours. I know most of my dialogues by heart right now because I have been reading them over and over again. I am having a lot of fun with it."
Raazi is scheduled to release on May 11, 2018.
