Shahid Kapoor is all set to be seen on the big screen in Kabir Singh. The actor plays the role of a guy who has anger management issues and because of a failed relationship becomes an alcoholic and is on a self-destruction mode.

Shahid is one actor who has played a lot of troubled characters. Recently, during a media interaction when he was asked if he likes playing troubled characters, Shahid said, “I like playing characters which have enough meat in them so that you can feel insecure and you can feel the need to really up your game, or to raise the bar for yourself to be able to achieve them.”

When he was asked how he used to switch from being the angry man to a family man, the actor said, “One hour of Mumbai traffic (laughs), sometimes one and a half hours. I had no option, I had to because it’s a very intense character, and I didn’t want to bring that kind of intensity back home. I wanted to come back to being a dad to my kids. They are very small right now, so I was very concerned about that. I was like is this the right time in my life for me to be taking up a character like this (Kabir Singh) because when I did Udta Punjab, I was single, I used to live alone, there was no that kind of responsibility, I could be the way I needed to be. So, actually, it was one of my biggest concerns that you know I am getting into a character which requires me to be in a different headspace and in my personal life I am in a different headspace, so that’s what actually made this character most challenging. I had to keep making that flip every day.”

Kabir Singh also stars Kiara Advani in the lead role and it will be hitting the screens on 21st June 2019. The film is a remake of Telugu movie Arjun Reddy and it is directed by Sandeep Vanga who had also helmed the original movie.
