Salman Khan to return as host in June

It has been just a couple of days since Salman Khan’s popular show Bigg Boss 11 had its finale with Shilpa Shinde winning the coveted trophy, but if you have already started missing the superstar and his fabulous hosting, we have got good news for you.

According to reports, the Tiger Zinda Hai star will make his comeback as television host soon. It has been learned that Khan is gearing up for the next season of his popular game show, 10 Ka Dum, and he is expected to shoot for audition call promos in February.

10 Ka Dum, which is an Indianised version of the popular international game show, Power of 10, was first launched in India in 2008. It saw the launch of its second season in 2009. And now, Sony Entertainment Television is bringing its third season almost after a decade. Reportedly 10 Ka Dum 3 will be launched in the month of June.

A source says, “The idea is to shoot in two separate schedules keeping in mind how busy Salman is. The first schedule is expected to commence in March and the second in June after the show is launched. Like Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati, that ran for one-and-a-half months, this one too will have the same run-time with a half month extension, depending on the viewer response and Salman’s availability.”

Another source reveals that like KBC 9, the audience sitting at home can play along and win prizes. “The makers had tried this with KBC 9, so now they are planning to take it ahead and make 10 Ka Dum the biggest interactive show. Viewers sitting at home can play the game along with the contestants in the studio and win prizes.”

What Britain’s ban on strangulation porn really means and why campaigners say it could backfire

Highlights:

  • Government to criminalise porn that shows strangulation or suffocation during sex.
  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

You see it everywhere now. In mainstream pornography, a man’s hands around a woman’s neck. It has become so common that for many, especially the young, it just seems like part of sex, a normal step. The UK government has decided it should not be, and soon, it will be a crime.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
