Sahil Vaid reteams with Varun Dhawan for Coolie No.1

Toplined by Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, Coolie No. 1 is one of the most awaited films of 2020. While shooting of the movie is going on in full swing, the makers have now added yet another actor in the star cast. Yes, you heard it right!

Sahil Vaid, who is known for his impeccable comic timing, has been roped in to play an important character in the film. Coolie No. 1 will mark a hat-trick of films for Varun Dhawan and Sahil Vaid. The two have previously co-starred in Dharma Productions’ hit romcoms Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017).


Sahil is really ecstatic to have bagged a movie like Coolie No. 1. Sharing his excitement, the actor said, “Working with David sir was a surprise dream that came true. On top of that sharing it with my ‘yaar’ Varun for the 3rd time around while promoting a plastic-free initiative by Pooja Entertainment is epic. What else can you ask for? Working with a dream team like this one, while inspiring people to help save the environment, it is noble yet cool.”

Produced by Pooja Entertainment, Coolie No. 1 is directed by David Dhawan. As the title aptly suggests, the movie is an official remake of the 1995 cult comic caper of the same name, starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles. The original film was also produced and directed by Pooja Entertainment and David Dhawan respectively. The remake stars Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in prominent roles. Besides the two, Paresh Rawal, Shikha Talsania, and Sahil Vaid also plays pivotal parts in the flick.

Coolie No. 1 is all set to roll into theatres on 1st May 2020.

Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
