Rishi Kapoor to play a patriarch in family entertainer Jhootha Kahin Ka

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who was recently seen in Umesh Shukla’s 102 Not Out (2018) alongside Amitabh Bachchan, has been roped in to play a pivotal character in Bollywood filmmaker Smeep Kang’s next directorial venture, titled Jhootha Kahin Ka.

Interestingly, the family entertainer borrows its title from his 1979 movie, Jhootha Kahin Ka, also starring wife Neetu Kapoor. Besides Rishi Kapoor, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) fame Omkar Kapoor and Sunny Singh also headline the film.

Talking about the storyline of the movie, it revolves around two boys who go to Mauritius for their higher studies. They fall so much in love with the city, that they don’t want to return home. Soon Rishi Kapoor, who plays Omkar’s father, lands in Mauritius and is surprised by the lifestyle of his son.

“It’s a family entertainer about these two boys who get trapped in their own lies and into trouble with their families. We have been shooting in Punjab and Mauritius. The film is almost complete with only the climax left which we begin shooting from August 6 in Mumbai,” says director Smeep Kang.

Upon being asked what made him sign Rishi Kapoor for the role, he said, “We needed someone who looks threatening without compromising on the comic element and Rishi Ji fit the bill perfectly.”

No date for the theatrical release has been announced yet.
