My playlist - Shayan Italia

AN interesting musical journey has seen Shayan Italia deliver superb songs, raise many millions for charity and entertain audiences around the world. The acclaimed singer-songwriter’s recent song Armour Of Love added to his impressive list of meaningful songs that entertain and make you think. The dashing star went through his music collection to select 10 tracks he is listening to right now.

Goodbye by Ramsey: I stumbled upon this while watching the Netflix animated series Arcane League Of Legends. One of the best shows I have ever seen. It was gritty, ballsy, edgy, and brilliant storytelling. The song is ethereal in nature.

Lets Go To Hell by Tai Verdes: This song is just wild and the spoken harmonies are really fun in the middle, tight and delivered well. This track is just high energy all the way through. Wild camp-fire, upbeat fun!

Telepath by Conan Gray: One of the most exciting new artists to come on the scene with music I love. It's very high-octane, disco driven fun but what is impeccable is the snappy-timed delivery of each line.

Ghost Town by Benson Boone: There is a lot of heart in this song. Surprisingly, I have a song called Ghost Town but it’s incredibly different. I like the raspy recording here, making it sound borderline demo and studio recording.

Friday I’m In Love by Phoebe Bridgers: They don’t write songs like these anymore. You can instantly know it’s not written today as the words have so much depth. The melody is next level composition to what is produced today and the delivery is absolute class. It was featured in Money Heist. I instantly downloaded it. The Cure were geniuses. This version is haunting!

Goliath by Smith & Thell: This is modern folk pop at its best. It’s got such great lyrics, a story about how anyone small can overthrow the large. I love the harmonies and voices. The recording is just brilliant and draws you in!

Fingers Crossed by Agnes: I’m a huge Roxette fan in their heyday, and this reminds me of Marie’s voice. The dance-like strings arrangement really drives this song through to get your feet tapping. Bring it on!

Bed On Fire by Teddy Swims: He’s such a gentle big man, with style and character. And live, he’s just class! He’s got a gazillion self-made real views on YouTube and is a rising star, proving hard work and real music talent does shine. Great track! Ace vocal. The drums on this are epic! There is a lot of subtle arrangement tingles going on through the song.

Can I Get It by Adele: I like this track, as it’s different to what she does, although the drums do have a Rolling In The Deep feel. I particularly like the whistling chorus. Really great drums groove here.

Armour Of Love by Shayan Italia: It’s one of my favourite songs and one I genuinely would enjoy listening to, even if someone else had sung this. Melodically, it is very strong! I love it particularly as it celebrates love in a positive way, in a way few songs have done over the years. The middle 8 and key change at the second half really elevates the track. Love it!
