Mahira Khan: Everyone excited to see Raees in Pakistan

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan says there is lot of excitement back home on her Bollywood debut Raees with superstar Shah Rukh Khan and is hopeful that it will do well at the box office there.

Directed by Rahul Dholakia Raees released on January 25 worldwide, except Pakistan.

“It is releasing in Pakistan and everyone was waiting for it to release here like anywhere else across the world. It will do amazing in Pakistan,” Mahira said in a video conference.

She was joined by her co-stars Shah Rukh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui along with producer Ritesh Sidhwani.

Pakistan has reversed its policy of banning the screening of Indian films.

A statement by the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, released on 31 January had said, “The Federal Government is pleased to continue the existing open policy to display all international movies (including Indian films) in Pakistani cinemas.”

According to Ritesh, Raees will soon release in the neighbouring country.

“You don’t understand how much we wanted this (lifting of the ban on Indian films) to happen. Raees is a big film and everyone was asking me about it (release). Everyone was waiting,” Mahira said.

When asked about the ban on Pakistani artistes in India, the actress played safe and said she is happy with the love the film is receiving.

“There are a lot of things being said. If you were at my place to see your film doing the way it is, the songs and trailer come out… I have received lot of love… To feel that is more than enough. I am happy siting here. For me this is it.”

Saif Ali Khan reunites with the auto rickshaw driver who saved his life

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan had an emotional reunion with Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto rickshaw driver who came to his rescue during a life-threatening situation. Their meeting was a true moment of appreciation and gratitude, six days after Saif survived a frightening attack.

The horrifying incident unfolded when Saif was attacked during an attempted burglary and stabbed six times. Saif, severely hurt and in pain, tried to find help whilst wearing a white kurta that turned crimson from his own blood. In his darkest hour, he met Rana, who displayed great courage and compassion.

Speaking to the media, Rana clearly recalled the night. He expressed his shock at finding Saif, bloodied and accompanied by a toddler, and frantically trying to figure out how long it would take to reach the hospital. Without hesitation, Rana urged Saif to get into his auto and sped to Lilavati Hospital. Rana reached the hospital in just 8–10 minutes, putting aside any thoughts of charging for the trip and focusing solely on Saif's safety

For days following the tragedy, storeys circulated about whether Saif would meet the man who had saved his life. On Tuesday, soon before being released from the hospital, Saif addressed those queries with a heartfelt gesture.
