Janhvi Kapoor to Gunjan Saxena: Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of bravery

We all know that Janhvi Kapoor will be seen as IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena on the big screen in the biopic which is titled as Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl. Saxena celebrates her birthday today and Janhvi took to Instagram to wish her with a sweet message.

Along with a picture of herself with Gunjan, Janhvi posted on Instagram, “Happy Birthday Gunjan mam! Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of bravery, the importance of working hard and sincerely and for paving the way for millions of women in our country. You’re an inspiration and a hero, without ever having tried to be. Your story has helped me believe in myself, and hopefully will help others too.”

Karan Johar, who is co-producing the biopic with Zee Studios, also tweeted to wish Gunjan Saxena. He wrote, “Happy birthday Gunjan Ma'am! Your unwavering courage and bravery has inspired generations gone and more to come. Thank you for entrusting us with your journey to be shown on the big screen!”

It was just a few days ago when Karan had posted the first look posters of the film. In one of the posters we could see Janhvi donning the IAF pilot’s uniform and we must say that she has carried it quite well.

This will be Janhvi’s second outing on the big screen. The actress made her debut last year with Dhadak. Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl is slated to release on 13th March 2020.

For the uninitiated, during the Kargil War of 1999, Gunjan Saxena an IAF pilot flew into the war zone and became the first lady IAF officer to do this. She was awarded Shaurya Chakra for the same. We surely can’t wait to experience her inspirational journey on the big screen.
