Gully Boy locks February 14th, 2019 as its release date

The upcoming film Gully Boy, which is headlined by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, has locked a release date for itself. The film will release on 14th February 2019. Noted filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, who last helmed Dil Dhadakne Do, is directing the movie which brings Ranveer and Alia together for the first time.

Inspired from the real-life story of street rappers Naved Shaikh and Vivian Fernandez, the film went on floors a few weeks ago. Since Naved and Vivian, who are now popular as Naezy and Devine, lived in the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai, the film is being shot there only.

Ranveer and Alia both play rappers in the film and will be seen in a complete de-glam avatar. Besides announcing the release date of the film, the makers also launched the first look of both the actors.

Gully Boy is being bankrolled by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Besides Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, the star cast of the film also includes names like Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Varma.

David Krumholtz calls out Hollywood’s toxic culture as he quits: "Fed up and fried"

Highlights

  • David Krumholtz said he has put his acting career on hold after feeling “frustrated, fed up, fried” with the profession.
  • The Supergirl actor said stepping away brought him a “huge wave of relief” after years of fearing he would go broke outside Hollywood.
  • Krumholtz stressed that he is not walking away from acting itself, but wants to find a more rewarding way to use his time and talents.

David Krumholtz has spent more than three decades building the kind of acting career many performers would envy. From The Santa Clause and Numb3rs to Superbad, Oppenheimer and Supergirl, the 48-year-old has remained a familiar face across film and television.

Now, the actor says he has had enough of the profession. In a social media post that he later deleted, Krumholtz revealed that he had sent what he described as a “definitive email” putting his acting career on hold. Rather than regret the decision, he said the move immediately lifted a burden he had been carrying for years.
