Farhan Akhtar calls the latest news about Don 3 false

After the huge success of Shah Rukh Khan’s Don and Don 2, the audience has been waiting for Don 3, the third instalment of the super-hit film series, for quite a long time now.

While the makers have time and again said that the work is underway for Don 3, a recent story published in a leading Indian daily reported that Farhan Akhtar, the co-producer of the franchise, and his team have already locked the script and that the former will also be seen in the film, in the role of a cop, along with superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

However, as soon as Akhtar came to know about the false news, he immediately took to Twitter to rubbish it. "Request those who conjure up news about #Don3 without any fact checking to please refrain. It is not fair to raise expectations of the film's fanbase via false news," the actor-producer tweeted.

With his tweet, the actor-producer has requested everyone, especially media outlets, to not spread false rumours about his film. We hope that his request does not fall on deaf ears and journalists crosscheck their facts before putting stories, not just about celebrities but anyone in general.

UK becomes key hurdle for Paramount's £81 billion Warner Bros. Discovery takeover

  • The UK government is considering intervening in Paramount Skydance's proposed £81 billion ($110 billion) takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery.
  • Ministers want to assess the deal's impact on media plurality, news diversity and streaming services.
  • Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery have until July 6 to respond before a decision is made.

The Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger has cleared several major regulatory hurdles around the world, but the proposed £81 billion ($110 billion) deal is now facing fresh scrutiny in the UK. The British government is considering intervening on public interest grounds, raising the possibility of further delays to one of the largest media transactions in recent years.

The potential intervention centres on concerns over media plurality, news diversity and the future of television and streaming services available to UK audiences. If ministers decide to proceed, the transaction could face a more detailed investigation despite already receiving approvals in markets including the US, China, Australia, Germany, France and Saudi Arabia.
