Dhawan to miss first three Australia clashes

India's opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan will miss the first three one-day internationals against Australia to be with his ailing wife, the Indian cricket board said Thursday (14).

The Virat Kohli-led India, who edged out Australia 2-1 in a Test series earlier this year, will begin the five-match ODI series in Chennai on Sunday (17).

"Team India opener Mr Shikhar Dhawan has requested to be released from the team for the first three ODIs," said a Board of Control for Cricket in India statement. It added that Dhawan wanted "to attend to his wife, who is unwell."

The BCCI did not name a replacement. Backup openers Lokesh Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane are already in the 15-man squad.

The hosts will also play three Twenty20 matches against Steve Smith's Australia.

TikTok launches £3.99 ad-free subscription for UK users

  • TikTok users in the UK will soon be asked to pay £3.99 a month for an ad-free experience.
  • Users who continue using the free version will receive personalised adverts by default.
  • Experts say social media platforms are increasingly turning privacy into a paid feature.

TikTok is introducing a £3.99 monthly subscription for UK users who want to use the app without adverts, marking another major shift in how social media companies are monetising their platforms.

From July 14, the company will begin notifying users aged 18 and above about its new “TikTok Ad-Free” option through in-app pop-up messages. Those who choose to subscribe will no longer see adverts placed by TikTok across areas such as the platform’s “For You” feed.
