Confirmed! Kriti Sanon opposite Akshay Kumar in Bachchan Pandey

A few months ago, Akshay Kumar had announced his movie Bachchan Pandey which will hit the screens on Christmas 2020. There have been several reports about the lead actress of the film. While some reports suggested it will be Kriti Sanon, some stated that Akshay will romance Pooja Hegde in the film.

However, now finally, the makers have announced that it is Kriti Sanon who will be seen opposite Akshay in the film. Bachchan Pandey is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, and on the Twitter handle of his production house, they announced that Kriti is a part of the film. They tweeted, “We’re extremely happy and elated to announce the charming @kritisanon is here to make our Christmas 2020 merrier than ever! ? Welcome back to the #NGEFamily with #BachchanPandey! ? @akshaykumar #SajidNadiadwala @farhad_samji @WardaNadiadwala.”


Kriti and Akshay were recently paired opposite each other in Housefull 4 and their jodi was liked by the audiences. This will be Kriti’s third film Sajid Nadiadwala. The actress tweeted, “Thrilled and beyond excited for this reunion!! ????? This Christmas is gonna be indeed a Merry Merry one! Can’t wait to start #BachchanPandey ? #SajidSir @akshaykumar @farhad_samji @WardaNadiadwala.”

While talking to a tabloid, Kriti stated, “I had a blast working with them in Housefull 4 and super excited that we will be collaborating again. It’s my third film with Sajid sir and again, a very entertaining one.”

Bachchan Pandey will be directed by Farhad Samji who had also directed Housefull 4. It will be hitting the screens on Christmas 2020 which means it will clash with Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha. It was said that the release date of Bachchan Pandey will be changed, but today while announcing Kriti’s name they have tweeted that the film will release on Christmas 2020.

Bachchan Pandey is said to be the remake of 2014 release Tamil film Veeram.
