Amitabh Bachchan gives an emotional tribute to Rishi Kapoor

Yesterday, Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar had organised a digital concert titled I For India. In the concert, Bollywood celebs had shot videos from their respective houses, and those videos were shown on Facebook during the concert.

Amitabh Bachchan was also a part of the concert and he gave an emotional tribute to his friend, late Rishi Kapoor. The megastar spoke about his Coolie co-star during the concert. He took to Instagram to share the video with his fans. Big B captioned the video as, “In Memoriam ..”

In the video, Amitabh Bachchan has stated, “I would see him more often, at RK Studios, when he was prepping for his role in, Bobby. His training would happen at the famous large and legendary makeup room, of Raj Ji at the end of the first-floor corridor of makeup rooms. He had a walk that was confident, determined. His style was very similar to his grandfather, the legendary Prithviraj Kapoor.”

While talking about the films, he worked with Rishi Kapoor, Big B said, “We have worked in several films together, Chintu and I, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb, Coolie, and more recently, 102 Not Out.”

“Even in the most grave sequences we were about to shoot, he would discover that comedic spark and we would all just crack up. Not just on sets even if we were together at any formal event, he would find that little distractive, light-hearted moment to lighten the situation,” he added.

Amitabh Bachchan ended the video by stating, “I never visited him in Hospital. I never wanted to see the distress on his smiling cherubic face. But I am certain when he went, he must have gone with a gentle smile.”
