A special song to be filmed on Alia Bhatt for RRR?

Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli, who became an international force to reckon with after the humongous success of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2020), is currently working on his next directorial offering, tentatively titled RRR. The much-awaited movie stars popular South Indian actors Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, while Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt feature in extended cameos.

The latest update on RRR has it that S.S. Rajamouli is planning to shoot a special song featuring Alia Bhatt. “Alia’s role is extremely decorative in RRR. Considering her superstar status in Bollywood it is not fair to have her in RRR just because she wanted to work with Rajamouli. The respect and admiration should be mutual. Alia does author-backed central roles like Raazi (2018) and Gangubai Kathiawadi in Hindi. Rajamouli has now added a whole song to Alia’s character,” a source close to the development informs a publication.

RRR is one of the most-awaited films of 2019, which is being made on a huge budget of ₹ 350 crore. In addition to Telugu, the movie is simultaneously been shot in Tamil and Hindi as well. RRR is scheduled to enter theatres worldwide on 30th July 2020.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is presently shooting for her much talked about film Gangubai Kathiawadi, which marks her first collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While Bhansali is known for including elaborate song and dance routines in his films, Gangubai Kathiawadi will not include any songs.

Apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt is also doing Dharma Productions’ hugely anticipated film Brahmastra. To be made on a lavish budget, the fantasy drama co-stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Mouni Roy. She also joins hands with her father, Mahesh Bhatt, for a sequel to his 1991 musical hit Sadak. Titled Sadak 2, the movie also features Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles.
