Yeh Ballet becomes the first Indian film to be recommended by Netflix CEO

We all know that currently during the lockdown, people are spending a lot of time watching content on OTT platforms. Netflix is one of the most-watched OTT platforms and offers some really good web series as well as original movies.

A couple of months ago, a movie titled Yeh Ballet started streaming on Netflix. The film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films and directed by Sooni Taraporevala who had written films like Salaam Bombay and The Namesake. Well, Yeh Ballet received a positive response from the critics, and viewers also loved it.

The movie has not just impressed the viewers, but even Netflix’s CEO, Reed Hastings has spoken about it. Recently, during a Netflix Earnings Call, Hastings suggested Yeh Ballet in his list of recommendations. Well, this is for the first time when an Indian film has been suggested by Netflix’s head honcho as a recommendation. We are sure this would be a proud moment for the whole team of the film.

Yeh Ballet stars Manish Chauhan and Achintya Bose in the lead roles along with Julian Sands, Jim Sarbh, Danish Husain, Vijay Maurya, Heeba Shah, and Kalyanee Mulay in pivotal roles. The movie showcases the journey of two kids who come from an underprivileged background and how they fulfill their dream to become ballet dancers. While we have seen many dance-based films, we have to say that Yeh Ballet is surely one of the best dance-based films made in recent times.
