Vidya Balan invited to interact with the students at the Imperial College London

Vidya Balan is currently in London shooting for the biopic Shakuntala Devi – Human Computer. The actress has been invited to interact with the students of the prestigious college of London, Imperial College. Interestingly, this is the same institute where Shakuntala Devi earned her place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

On 18th June 1980, Shakuntala Devi demonstrated the multiplication of two 13-digit numbers picked at random by the Computer Department of Imperial College London and correctly answered it in 28 seconds. Well, this made her earn a spot in Guinness Book of World Records.

Talking about visiting the institute, Vidya said, “Imperial College is an integral part of Shakuntala Devi’s life, this is the same college where she got her Guinness Book of World Records achievement. I am honoured that I am getting an opportunity to go visit this institute.”

The biopic is being directed by Anu Menon. While talking about the film the filmmaker had earlier said, “I have always been fascinated by Shakuntala Devi and truly felt that hers is an incredible story that had to be told. She was an extraordinary woman, who lived ahead of her times and on her own terms, unapologetically. From Vidya Balan to the rest of the cast and crew, and my producers – Vikram and Sony Pictures Networks Productions, I am so glad that all the elements have come together for us to put our best foot forward. I’m delighted that everyone will finally get to witness it on the big screen.”

Shakuntala Devi – Human Computer also stars Sanya Malhotra and it is slated to release during Summer 2020.
