Super fan of the week - Alia Bhatt

CROWN princess of Bollywood Alia Bhatt has had a remarkable rise to the very top and in the process gained herself an incredible global fan base.

One of her most dedicated admirers is Akash Pankaj, who gives her unconditional support. Eastern Eye caught up with super fan Akash to find out more.


What connected you to Alia?

There is a lot to love about her, but it was the song Sooha Sooha from Highway that connected me to her. I loved her soulful voice, acting in the film and have been a fan ever since.

What made you a super fan?

It was her superb character Vaidehi Trivedi (in Badrinath Ki Dulhania), which is my most favourite till date. She gave an amazing performance plus that character gave me so many positive vibes.

Tell us about something super you have done for Alia?

I’ve made a YouTube channel for Alia, which is linked to my Twitter fan club. I’ve uploaded a couple of videos related to the trends.

What has been your most memorable moment?

I’m eagerly waiting for it because the most memorable will be meeting her.

What is the thing you most love about Alia?

There is a lot to admire about Alia. If I have to choose one then it would be her simplicity and her humble behaviour.

Which quality in Alia do you most relate to?

I think it would be her sense of humour.

What is your favourite work Alia has done?

I love all her work because she puts everything into her roles. Like I said, Vaidehi Trivedi from Badrinath Ki Dulhania is my favourite. I also really love the way she portrayed Sehmat Khan from Raazi.

Why do you love being a super fan?

I love being a super fan of Alia because she motivates me very well and inspires me in my day-to-day life.

Kinski’s criticism leads to dramatic reversal

More than 50 years after its release, Wim Wenders has withdrawn his 1975 film Wrong Move following renewed criticism from actor Nastassja Kinski, who appeared topless in the film at the age of 13.

The German director announced that streaming services, television broadcasters and distribution partners had been instructed to stop making the film publicly accessible. The decision comes weeks after Kinski revealed she had spent 15 years unsuccessfully trying to persuade Wenders to alter the film.
