Sanjay Dutt’s role in Sadak 2 revealed

Keeping the epic failure of Dharma Productions’ Kalank (2019) aside, Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt are now gearing up to start the first schedule of their next film Sadak 2. As the title of the movie suggests itself, Sadak 2 is a sequel to the 1991 musical hit Sadak, which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles.

Since the makers officially announced the project last year, speculations have been rife about the characters that Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt will be playing in the much-awaited sequel.

Several media outlets have reported over the past few months that Dutt has been roped in to play Alia Bhatt’s father in the flick. However, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who is returning to direction after a massive gap of two decades, has rejected all reports as untrue. The ace filmmaker said that Dutt would reprise the role of Ravi from the original film.

A source also confirms the same, saying that Dutt’s character helps Alia in exposing a fake guru in the movie. “Alia’s character is out to expose a fake guru who runs an ashram. She is accompanied by Sanjay’s (Dutt) character in this journey. Sanjay has already started prep with Bhatt saab. They start shooting in a fortnight.”

Set to mount the shooting floor soon, Sadak 2 is scheduled to roll into cinemas on 25th March, 2020.
