Rohit Shetty to commence work on Golmaal 5 in 2020

Golmaal is undoubtedly one of the most successful comedy film franchises Bollywood has ever produced. The series, which began with the release of Golmaal in (2006), has delivered four superhit instalments so far and now the audience is waiting for the fifth instalment of it.

Director Rohit Shetty announced Golmaal 5 through a song in his recent film, Simmba (2018). Keeping up his promise, the hit filmmaker will begin work on the fifth instalment of the Golmaal series in 2020, after wrapping up his upcoming film, Sooryavanshi.

The news has been confirmed by Shreyas Talpade, who plays Laxman in the franchise. The actor says that the project is currently at the writing stage. “Like we gave a small hint in Aankh Maare, Rohit is also very keen that we do the 5th part of Golmaal. He is working on a story right now, which none of us is aware of. Eventually, he will tell us what our dates are for shooting, but I think it will be in 2020 when we should probably shoot for it,” says the actor.

Talpade went on to add, “I am just keeping my fingers crossed as it is a great franchise, and we all have a good time shooting it together. Yes, we want to do the fifth part and we are hopeful that Rohit will crack a story soon and call us for the shoot.”

Rohit Shetty is presently busy with his next film, Sooryavanshi, starring superstar Akshay Kumar in the lead role. He is also producing a film to be helmed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan.
