Ranveer Singh starrer ’83 starts rolling

India won the first World Cup in the year 1983. Kapil Dev and his team made the country proud. Now after 37 years we will witness the great moment once again that too on the big screen. After Tubelight, Kabir Khan is all set to direct a movie titled ’83 which is based on India’s victory at ICC World Cup 1983.

It was a few days ago when the film’s team left for their first schedule in London and today, the movie went on the floors. The official handle of the film posted on Instagram, “Pehla over, pehla ball. Let’s get rollin’. ? #83OneMoreTime.”

While talking about his research on the subject, director Kabir Khan had earlier said, "It's probably the best story I've heard in my life. But there's a dearth of writing about it. I had to go to Lord's library and search all the book to finally get all the material together. There's such less material written on it despite the fact that it was such an iconic moment in the history of our country."

Ranveer Singh, who plays the role of Kapil Dev in the film, had earlier said, "I've found some clues along the way in this journey that'll help me construct my performance. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'm thrilled with the way the movie has shaped up. All credit to Kabir sir and our dedicated team for the spectacular prep that's gone into the film. We are hoping to make a film that the entire nation can be proud of and we seek everyone's blessings for our endeavour.”

’83 is all set to hit the screens on 10th April 2020. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The movie also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, Dinker Sharma, Jatin Sarna, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, R Badree and Pankaj Tripathi.

Reportedly, Deepika Padukone will be seen playing the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia in the film. However, we are waiting for an announcement from the makers. But if it turns out to be true, this will be Deepika and Ranveer’s fourth film together and the first film after their wedding.
