Nicole Kidman’s new jellyfish haircut sets the internet on fire

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman has taken the internet by storm yet again. This time, it is for her new haircut called the jellyfish. Yes, you read that right! Social media is currently obsessing over the new hairstyle that has suddenly become so popular that even Hollywood A-lister Nicole Kidman has given it a shot.

The Australian actress melted a million hearts with a whole new look for her latest media appearance this week, switching up her straight blonde hair for a less conventional style. Yes, she has officially embraced the ‘jellyfish cut’, a gender-neutral hair trend that has grown popular on TikTok and Instagram in recent months.

In a recent interview for the cover of Perfect Magazine, Kidman rocked a number of Gen Z-approved fashion moments, but it was her mane that caught everybody’s attention. The natural red head went back to her crimson roots, this time with hip-length tresses.

While a number of people are embracing the trend, not everyone is convinced about its originality. One user said she saw the hairstyle first on American actress Florence Henderson.

“I've cut my hair into this even though Mom didn't approve because she doesn't want to ruin my hair on my graduation day but I slayed on that day,” wrote another user.

“I love when TikTok recommends me videos of some stupidly named new trendy haircut because every time I click on it I'm shown videos of the ugliest looking hair I have ever seen in my entire life," wrote a third user.

In other news, screenwriter Billy Ray told a publication on August 31 that he has already written the sequel to Nicole Kidman’s viral AMC ad. “I got a text from the chairman of AMC about a month ago asking me if I would write the next one, and of course, the answer to that is yes,” Ray said. Kidman is set to return to feature in the ad. “Of course, it’s with Nicole. I am not doing it without Nicole, he added.

Yash says Ravana in Ramayana must connect with Western viewers as film eyes global audience

Highlights

  • Yash says he humanised Ravana to help global audiences relate to the character.
  • Asura designs in the first glimpse drew criticism for looking too Western-inspired.
  • Producer Namit Malhotra compares the film's tone to Lord of the Rings and Gladiator.
Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
