My Pod with Dj Aashiqui

Popular presenter DJ Aashiqui hosts the Love Express on the Midlands-based Radio XL every Sunday night at 10pm. The show features romantic melodies, relationship banter and entertaining free-flowing chat.

Eastern Eye got DJ Aashiqui to select her favourite 10 love songs.

Dil Laga Liya Maine from Dil Hai Tumhaara: A great throwback song sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. My all-time favourite super hit love song and known to be used as an entrance song for many brides. This song maintains the theme of love expressed and is still easy on the ears.

Dil Diyan Gallan from Tiger Zinda Hai: The ultimate romantic ballad sung by Atif Aslam has everything a love bug could hope for. The lyrics are dripping with love and are no less than poetry.

Shab Tum Ho by Darshan Raval: A breezy love ballad by the singing sensation has made a place in many young hearts. The romantic number showcases a completely different emotion of love land that will give you a dreamy feel. Darshan’s intoxicating composition has soulful vocals.

Tere Sang Yaara from Rustom: A romantic soft song with a soulful composition. The heartfelt lyrics reach out to your soul instantly. This dreamy song is just the perfect love story we all dream about. The music is mesmerising and Atif Aslam’s heart-winning voice is soothingly beautiful.

Kaun Tujhe from MS Dhoni - The Untold Story: The romantic love ballad from Palak Muchhal is soulful, melodious, emotional and really touched my heart. This song really makes you feel in love. The romantic vibes with soft ambient flutes, keyboard, chimes and violins are stunning.

Ae Dil from Punjab Nahi Jaungi: A sweet, hummable romantic ballad with soothing tunes that’s simple yet breathtakingly beautiful. A song that can help you get lost in your own thoughts and get connected with a loved one.
