Megha Chakraborty roped in for Saurabh Tewari’s next

According to latest media reports, popular television actress Megha Chakraborty has been signed to play the female lead in renowned producer Saurabh Tewari’s forthcoming show for Star Plus. The show is said to be inspired from the work of popular Hindi writer Harishankar Parsai.

Megha, who hails from Kolkata and made her acting debut with Shashi Sumeet Productions’ Badii Devrani, was last seen in Sony Entertainment Television’s period drama, Peshwa Bajirao. Starring Karan Suchak in the role of Peshwa Bajirao, the show featured Megha as Mastani.

However, despite being mounted on a lavish scale, the show failed to attract the audience and was shut down halfway. After Peshwa Bajirao came to an end, Karan bagged Meri Hanikarak Biwi on &TV and now his ex-co-star Megha has also signed a new show.

As per reliable sources, the show will mount the shooting floor next month. The whole team will head to Indore for an outdoor shoot. After canning some important portions in the city, the cast and crew will come back to Mumbai to start the regular shooting.

“The team is presently working out logistics of shoot schedule and will begin shoot in February. The show will be based in Indore. Megha Chakraborty has been roped in to play the lead role,” reveals a source.

An official announcement from the channel is awaited.
