Manushi Chhillar set for her debut opposite Akshay Kumar

A couple of weeks ago, Bollywood was buzzing with stories that Manushi Chhillar, the winner of the 2017 Miss World crown, would make her silver screen debut opposite Ranveer Singh in a Yash Raj Films’ offering.

Looks like there is a major change in plans now! Instead of Ranveer Singh, Chhillar will pair opposite superstar Akshay Kumar to begin her Bollywood journey. Yes, you heard that absolutely right!

If a report published on a leading entertainment portal is to be believed, Manushi Chhillar has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Akshay in Yash Raj Films’ forthcoming period drama, Prithviraj Chauhan.

“Manushi will be making her big Bollywood debut opposite none other than Akshay Kumar. She has been signed on for the Prithviraj Chauhan biopic that is expected to go on floors sometime towards the latter half of this year,” a source close to the team reveals to the portal.

Praising the former beauty queen, the source adds further, “Manushi has shown a lot of promise from the time she became a national craze. She is not only pretty but a great performer too”.

Prithviraj Chauhan will be directed by renowned filmmaker Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has to his credit films like Pinjar (2003) and Mohalla Assi (2013).

More details are awaited.
