Senior BJP leader LK Advani, along with his family, visited Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh on Friday to pay tribute to his late wife, Kamla Advani.
On this date last year, Advani and his family had taken part in a special pooja and planted a sacred Rudraksha sapling in her honour.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan, said: “If we turn our traditions and festivals into green ones then not only will we preserve the memory of our loved ones but connect the future generation to them forever. This is the kind example that is needed today for us to embrace, accept and promote these sustainable actions to set the foundation of our brighter, cleaner, greener tomorrow. ”
During their stay, the Advanis prayed and offered homage to the beautiful green memorial Rudraksha garden planted in memory of Kamla.
They also reminisced how much Kamla loved river Ganga and Parmarth Niketan’s divine Ganga Aarti, and discussed her deep connection to Parmarth Niketan Ashram, which she visited frequently with her family.
Advani and his family also took a holy dip in the river Ganga. They also held a special bhandara for the saints and young Parmarth Gurukul students and sevaks.
