Kriti Sanon calls 2019 a game-changer for her career

Kriti Sanon, who made her Bollywood debut with the Sajid Nadiadwala-produced actioner Heropanti (2014) opposite Tiger Shroff, has come a long way in her career. Today, she is one of the most sought-after actresses in the tinsel town, with several high-profile projects under her belt.

2019 turned out to be an extremely fruitful year for Sanon. She starred in four films – Luka Chuppi, Arjun Patiala, Housefull 4 and Panipat – and received excellent response for her performances in each one of them. Talking about the year, she called it a game-changer for her career.

Luka Chuppi appealed to me and we were surprised with the numbers it did. Housefull 4 was my first ₹ 200 crore film and the whole process of doing the film was a lot of fun. The amount of love and applause I got for Panipat, I haven’t got it for any other film of mine, not even for Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017). But it was mixed feelings for me post Panipat release because everyone who watched it called me and messaged me and some felt it’s the best performance of my career. But not many people went to the theatres to watch it”, says the actress during a conversation with an entertainment portal.

When asked about the kinds of films she wants to do hereon in her career, she adds, “I would have loved to do a film like Gully Boy (2019). It was a brilliant role and I love Zoya Akhtar as a director. Also, I have always wanted to play a grey character or something like a Gone Girl (2014). She was completely whacked out.”

Kriti Sanon will next be seen in Mimi, a film directed by Laxman Utekar for Maddock Films.
