John Abraham sets release date for his next Batla House

After delivering two clean hits in 2018, John Abraham seems set to continue his winning streak in 2019 also. The actor, whose last two releases - Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran and Satyamev Jayate - kept the cash registers jingling at the box-office, has an interesting line of films in the coming year.

Today, John announced the release date of one of his forthcoming movies, Batla House, along with sharing the first look. To be directed by filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, the movie is set to enter cinemas on 15th August, 2019.

Batla House, inspired from Operation Batla House which took place on September 19, 2008, against Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi, sees John Abraham in the role of a policeman. In the first look poster that the actor launched, the name on his badge reads ‘Sanjay Kumar’.

“Encounters: 70 Cases: 33 Convictions: 22 Gallantry Awards: 9 Accusations: 1 “When everything you’ve achieved could be wiped out in that one moment.” The story of India’s Most Decorated/Controversial Cop,” the actor wrote on his Twitter handle.

In his another tweet, the Dhoom (2004) star wrote, “Every story has two points of view. One WRONG. The other RIGHT. But what if the lines are blurred? Very very blurred!”

Batla House is expected to begin production in November. Upon its release on 15th August, 2019, it will clash with Made In China and Brahmastra.

Kalki 2 continues to hold attention despite the long wait

Sequels often struggle to maintain momentum when production stretches over several years, but Kalki 2 continues to generate strong interest even without regular updates from the team.

Much of that anticipation comes from the world created by Nag Ashwin in Kalki 2898 AD, which ended with several unresolved story threads and set the stage for a larger cinematic universe. The scale of the film, combined with its mythology-inspired storytelling and ensemble cast, has kept conversations around the sequel alive.
