IKEA launches e-Commerce services in Bengaluru, India.

HOME furnishing retailer IKEA on Thursday (17) announced launch of its e-Commerce services and mobile shopping app in Bengaluru, India.

The Swedish brand will offer a range of 8,000 home furnishing products and solutions to consumers.


The company that already has online presence in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara, opened its second India store in Navi Mumbai in December 2020.

Bengaluru is one of the largest home furnishing markets in India, IKEA India chief executive officer and chief sustainability officer, Peter Betzel said.

The company will also open a big IKEA store at Nagasandra, Karnataka within a year.

"Over time, we will also open a city centre store within Bengaluru to be even more accessible and connect with many more people," Betzel said.

In the coming year, IKEA is also gearing up to open two city centre stores in Mumbai.

The company works with nine home furnishing suppliers in Karnataka including a social entrepreneur engaging 1,200 local artisans.

Britain has secured a record-breaking 8.4 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity in its most competitive renewable energy auction to date, delivering enough clean electricity to power more than 12 m homes by 2030.

The government awarded subsidy contracts to 12 new offshore projects after increasing funding available to developers, with energy companies competing for guaranteed prices on each unit of clean electricity generated. Contract prices ranged between £89.49 and £91.20 per megawatt-hour in 2024 prices.
