Sourav Ganguly is one of the most famous names in the world of sports. He is said to be one of the best captains of the Indian cricket team, and currently, he is serving as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Well, a few days ago, there were reports of a biopic on Sourav Ganguly being made, and now, according to a report in a tabloid, Karan Johar is keen to produce the biopic. It is said that Karan and Sourav have met a few times for discussions. Reportedly, Karan is now looking for an actor to portray Ganguly’s role on the big screen and he has approached Hrithik Roshan for it.

This is not the first time, we have heard about a biopic on the former cricketer. Earlier, Ekta Kapoor was keen to make a biopic on Dada. While talking about it, Ganguly had earlier said, “Is it, Ekta Kapoor? Then yes, she approached me and we talked about it once. Nothing went further than that. I have never thought of a biopic [on me] though there are a host of sports biopics being made. If there is time, then someone will make one on me. Hope people would be interested in seeing the film.”

We have already seen biopic on cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni: The Untold Story), Mohammad Azharuddin (Azhar) and Sachin Tendulkar (Sachin: A Billion Dreams). There are also biopic on Mithali Raj (Shabaash Mithu) and Jhulan Goswami on the cards. It will surely be interesting to watch a biopic on Sourav Ganguly.

Talking about Hrithik Roshan, the actor was last seen on the big screen in War and currently has no films that have been officially announced. There were reports of him starring in Satte Pe Satta remake, but it is said that the actor has decided to opt-out of the film.
