First Look: Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays Singaar Singh in his Tamil debut film Petta

Renowned actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has played a diverse range of characters in Hindi films over the years, is now making a crossover to South Indian cinema. Today, the makers of his first Tamil film Petta unveiled his first look from the flick.

Starring southern superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, Petta features Nawaz in the role of Singaar Singh. The movie has been directed by well-known South Indian filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj and also stars Vijay Sethupathi in a prominent part.

Petta went on floors in June this year. The makers commenced the first shooting schedule of the movie at Eastern Forest Rangers College in Darjeeling followed by the second schedule in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Petta is bankrolled by one of the leading South Indian production houses, Sun Pictures. The movie is scheduled to roll into cinemas on the festival of Pongal in 2019. Upon its release, it will lock horns with the Ajith starrer Viswasam.
