Fan Club Of The Week

TERRIFIC television stars Krystle DSouza and Karan Tacker have generated plenty of chemistry on-screen and headlines away from work. They have a number of fan clubs, including one jointly dedicated to them run by Suganja Jesuthasan from The Netherlands, Vishwa Patel from USA and Mrittika from Canada. Eastern Eye caught up with them to find out more...

What made you set up the fan club?

There are individual fan clubs for Karan and Krystle, but there wasn’t an active fan club of them together. There are many Kryan fans globally and we thought of creating a place where they could get updates about their favorites. That’s why we started our fan club @TeamKryanians in 2015

Tell us about your fan club?

We have tried to make this a friendly platform where all fans can celebrate Karan and Krystle’s achievements, and their love for them. Being in different time zones, we regularly try to update fans by posting their pictures, interviews, performances and more. We also hold different contests and share fan’s creations.

What has been your memorable moment?

Every like, re-tweet, reply and recognition we get from Karan and Krystle becomes beautiful memories for us. The most memorable moment was when one of our admins got a chance to meet Krystle. These memories shall always hold a special place in our hearts.

What is the best thing you like about them?

Their humility and down-to-earth nature. Despite being well-known actors and having a great fan following, they have always been humble and courteous. That is something rare to find in actors these days. Their dedication towards evolving and growing not only as better actors, but also better human beings inspires us. Their irresistible chemistry makes them one of the most wanted pairs in the industry. Their six-year long strong friendship reflects in the chemistry that we fans, who lovingly call them Kryan, can never get enough of.

What is your favourite work they have done?

Karan and Krystle are very versatile actors as they have always taken up different projects in their careers. But our favourite work of theirs has to be when they played Viren and Jeevika for the Star Plus show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. Although that show ended four years ago, they continue to surprise us fans with their beautiful performances every year.

Tell us an interesting fact about them?

An interesting fact about Karan is that he is a certified scuba diver and an amazing cook. Krystle expands the horizons of her career by giving us fans make-up and fashion tips. She is one of the few celebrities in India who has created her own app to interact with fans.

What is your definition of a true fan?

According to us, the definition of a true fan is someone who not only loves their favourites but also values and respects their decisions. Someone who provides unwavering support during the actor’s good and bad times

Johnny Depp's dramatic new look in ‘Day Drinker’ sends internet into a frenzy

Johnny Depp is stepping back into Hollywood’s mainstream with a powerful new role in Day Drinker, his first major studio film since the defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard. With a fresh look and an intriguing character, Depp is ready to headline a movie that’s already got people talking.

In the first official image from the film, Depp appears nearly unrecognisable. Dressed in a deep navy suit, his long silver hair pulled back and a salt-and-pepper beard framing his face, he cuts a sharp yet mysterious figure. Holding a glass in one hand, he looks worlds away from the roles fans might remember, but that’s exactly what’s catching everyone's attention.

Aimee Lou Wood criticises SNL’s ‘White Potus’ parody for mocking her teeth

Aimee Lou Wood, star of The White Lotus, recently found herself at the centre of controversy after a parody of her character aired on Saturday Night Live (SNL). The skit, a political spoof titled The White Potus, humorously exaggerated aspects of the show, but for Wood, it went too far. Comedian Sarah Sherman impersonated Wood's character, Chelsea, with oversized prosthetic teeth. For Aimee Lou, this portrayal hit a nerve, and she openly criticised it.

Taking to Instagram, the actress expressed her discontent, calling the parody “mean and unfunny.” She argued that while she understood SNL was known for satire, the skit could have been executed with more sophistication and less cheap humour. Wood, who has always been open about her unique appearance, especially her noticeable gap teeth, clarified that she doesn't mind caricatures or playful jabs, but felt this one crossed a line. “I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth,” she wrote, pointing out that the entire joke seemed to target her appearance rather than the content of the skit.

Katy Perry, Lauren Sánchez, and Gayle King soar to space in a historic all-women Blue Origin flight

On Monday morning, six women including pop icon Katy Perry boarded a Blue Origin rocket in West Texas and took off on a short flight to space. The crew spent just over 10 minutes on the journey, experiencing those minutes of weightlessness before they safely returned to Earth.

What made this flight stand out, though, wasn’t just the celebrity presence. This was the first time in over six decades that an all-women team flew to space together. The last time anything close happened was in 1963, when Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to orbit Earth, alone, on a Soviet mission.
