Director Luv Ranjan hints at the sequel of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh starrer Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is running successfully at the box office. In an interview with a leading Indian daily, director Luv Ranjan hinted at the sequel of the film and spoke about the film garnering positive response. He said, "I did expect a good response as we knew we were speaking a language that would connect with people. The youth has liked my movies so far. This time there was a conscious effort to get the families to come to theatres. And their reactions have been beyond my imagination."

Talking about what made Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety work so well, he said, "It’s a simple story told in an entertaining way. After a long time, you see a family on screen, where the members are not merely props. The movie is high on emotions and it’s not frivolous. So, family audiences can relate to it."

Talking about whether the film will have a sequel, he said, "Mostly, a sequel isn’t planned during the making of a film. Whether I will make it or not depends on what I do next in the course of two years. So, while there is a possibility, there are no plans yet."

Considering the fact that Luv Ranjan’s films take a dig at love, the filmmaker spoke about his perception towards love. He said, "I think the concept of love has become more difficult. Thanks to technology, people have a shorter attention span. Consequently, they have less patience even in relationships. I always feel films are an exaggeration of what you see around you. I take real life and exaggerate it to my liking."
