Deepika Padukone concedes working on a superhero flick

A couple of months ago, the rumour mill went into overdrive with suggestions that Deepika Padukone was planning to headline a superhero film. The actress did not respond to any rumour back then. However, now she has shared some major details about her ambitious project.

In her latest interview with a premier entertainment magazine, when Deepika Padukone was asked if she is indeed planning a superhero film, she said, “Yes, I’m working on it. I hope it happens. There is no script as yet. It’s something my friend and I are developing. I was in the plane with a friend from the industry and talking about the movies we would like to make. We realised that this superhero film is something we would like to make. It’s a seed we are nurturing.”

Meanwhile, Padukone is presently busy preparing for her next film Chhapaak. To be directed by renowned filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, the movie is based on the inspirational life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Aside from playing the female lead in it, Deepika will also co-produce the film along with Meghna Gulzar.

Chhapaak is set to begin production in the first half of 2019. The film may hit the screen either towards the end of 2019 or early 2020.
