Ayushmann registers his biggest opening with Bala

Ayushmann Khurrana has done it again. After delivering a massive blockbuster Dream Girl (2019) a couple of weeks ago, the National Award-winning actor has now received outstanding response for his latest film Bala, directed by filmmaker Amar Kaushik for Maddock Films.

While Dream Girl opened its account with an impressive Rs. 10.05 crores, Bala registered an opening of Rs. 10.15 crores, beating Khurrana’s last hit by a small margin. Also starring Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in important roles, Bala is set to infame the box-office over the weekend.

Talking about the opening collection of Bala, Ayushmann Khurrana says that he is delighted that the film has instantly connected with audiences on day one. “With Bala, we are sending out some really strong and powerful social messages in the most entertaining manner possible and I am delighted that the film has instantly connected with audiences on day one. I only hope that the film entertains the whole of India because only this way we will be able to communicate everything that Bala is trying to say and spark a thought shift.”

The actor, who has not delivered any flop in the past three years, goes on to add, “It’s one of my most precious scripts to date and I’m really happy with the love and adulation that our film is getting. I’m humbled with the response and delighted that I have again backed a film that has its heart at the right place.”

Crediting the entire team of Bala for the terrific start of the film at the box-office, Khurrana says, “I share this moment with my director, the supremely talented and intelligent Amar Kaushik, my producer Dinesh Vijan, my two leading ladies who really gave Bala a run for his money – Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam, all the other fantastic cast members and the entire team of the film that believed in the vision and worked tirelessly to achieve it,” he signs off.

Ayushmann Khurrana will next be seen in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, which is a sequel to his 2017 hit Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The film stars the actor in the role of a small-town man who falls in love with another man. It releases on 14th February, 2020.
