Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer to roll on May 10

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi will start shooting for their yet-to-be-titled film on 10th May 2019. The untitled thriller is being directed by well-known screenwriter-director Rumi Jaffery, who has previously directed senior Bachchan on the 2008 film God Tussi Great Ho, co-starring Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

Emraan Hashmi, who has been working in Hindi films for close to one and a half decade now, has teamed up with Mr Bachchan for the first time in his entire career. His maiden collaboration with the thespian of Indian cinema makes the film even more special.


Confirming the first shooting schedule of the film, producer Anand Pandit says, “We are extremely excited to commence the shoot of the film from 10th May. Looking forward to seeing Mr Bachchan and Emraan onscreen for the first time. Given the subject of the film, I do believe we have a winner in our hands.”

The movie is being bankrolled by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited.

It is scheduled to release on 21st February 2020.

Sweetmeats, a new play examining diabetes in south Asian communities, will have its world premiere at London’s Bush Theatre from 7 February 2026. Written by Karim Khan and directed by Tara Theatre’s Natasha Kathi-Chandra, the production follows Hema and Liaquat, two elders brought together on a diabetes support course. The play highlights both the health risks faced by south Asians and the rarely told stories of older characters on the British stage.
