Akshay Kumar vs Ajay Devgn vs Aamir Khan at the box office on Christmas 2020

Akshay Kumar has films like Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, Good News, Laxmmi Bomb and Sooryavanshi in his kitty and now, today he has announced one more movie. Akshay will be seen in a movie titled Bachchan Pandey which will be directed by Farhad Samji.

The actor took to Twitter to announce the movie and share the first look poster of the film. He tweeted, “Coming on Christmas 2020! In & As #BachchanPandey ? In #SajidNadiadwala’s Next, directed by @farhad_samji @NGEMovies @WardaNadiadwala.”

Akshay is showing off his chiseled body in the poster and he is looking quite hot. But what grabbed our attention was the release date, Christmas 2020.

Luv Ranjan’s next starring Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor is also slated to release on Christmas 2020, and on the same day, even Aamir Khan will be coming on the big screen with his movie Lal Singh Chaddha. So, of course, it will be the clash of the titans as senior actors like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar will be pitted against each other at the box office.

Well, Christmas 2020 is quite far, so we won’t be surprised if the makers of these movies plan to change their release date.

Title Bachchan Pandey reminds us of Akshay’s character from YRF’s Tashan. In the movie, his character was named Bachchan Pandey. Reportedly, Kriti Sanon will be seen opposite Akshay in the film. Akki and Kriti are also paired opposite each other in Housefull 4 which is also directed by Samji.

Talking about Luv Ranjan’s next, there are reports that Deepika Padukone and Nushrat Bharucha are roped in as the female leads of the film. Coming to Lal Singh Chaddha, the movie is a remake of Hollywood film Forrest Gump and reportedly stars Kareena Kapoor Khan opposite Aamir in the film.  Well, if the reports turn out to be true, it will surely be interesting to watch Aamir and Kareena on the big screen after a long gap.

Falklands sovereignty row erupts days before King Charles meets Trump

Highlights

  • A Pentagon email reported by Reuters suggested the US was considering reviewing its support for UK sovereignty over the Falklands.
  • Downing Street said sovereignty "rests with the UK" and the islanders' right to self-determination is "paramount".
  • Report emerged just three days before King Charles and Queen Camilla are due to meet Trump at the White House.
A report suggesting the US may be rethinking its position on the Falkland Islands has sparked a strong response from Downing Street, coming just days before King Charles and Queen Camilla head to Washington to meet president Donald Trump.
An internal Pentagon email, reported by Reuters, suggested the US was looking at ways to put pressure on Nato allies it felt had not supported its war in Iran.
One of the options discussed was a review of American backing for British sovereignty over the Falklands.
No 10 was quick to respond, with the prime minister's spokesman saying the government "could not be clearer" on its stance.
"Sovereignty rests with the UK and the islanders' right to self-determination is paramount," he told BBC, adding that this had been "expressed clearly and consistently to successive US administrations."
He was firm that "nothing is going to change that."
The Falkland Islands government backed London's position, saying it had "complete confidence" in the UK's commitment to defending its right to self-determination.
Previous US administrations have recognised Britain's administration of the islands but have stopped short of formally backing its sovereignty claim.

Political reaction grows

The report triggered sharp reactions from across British politics. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch called the reported US position "absolute nonsense", adding: "We need to make sure that we back the Falklands.

They are British territory." Reform UK's Nigel Farage said the matter was "utterly non-negotiable" and confirmed he would raise it with Argentina's president Javier Milei when they meet later this year.
