Akshay Kumar signs Veeram remake, tentatively titled Land Of Lungi!

Akshay Kumar is one such superstar who can give many young actors a run for their money when it comes to working hard. The megastar, who will soon celebrate his 50th birthday, has been working tirelessly ever since he made his acting debut some two and a half decades ago.

Currently, the actor has a number of great projects in his hand. He has almost half a dozen movies as the male lead. Some of them are even lined up for release soon while others will mount floors in some time. The latest buzz is that Kumar has signed another movie which will be the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Veeram.


Tentatively titled Land Of Lungi, the film will mark the solo directorial debut of writer-turned-director Farhad Samji of Sajid-Farhan duo. The movie will be set in a village and will revolve around four brothers. Talking about the female lead of the movie, the makers are considering to rope in the gorgeous Tamannah Bhatia who was last seen in Baahubali: The Conclusion.

Akshay Kumar, whose last release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha did some phenomenal business at the Indian box office, is currently shooting for Gold and Padman. After a month or two, he will start promoting his mega-budgeted movie 2.0, also starring Rajinikanth. The actor plays the antagonist in the movie. Besides these films, the actor has Mogul and Crack in his hand. He has reportedly given his nod to star in films like Kesar and The Battle Of Saragarhi also.
