After Aashiqui, now Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin to be turned into a franchise

In 1990, Mahesh Bhat directed a film titled Aashiqui starring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The musical love story was a hit at the box office and in 2013, the makers decided to convert it into a franchise and made Aashiqui 2.

Now, from the past few years, there have been several reports about Aashiqui 3. The movie was also officially announced with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles, but unfortunately, it never went on the floors. According to a report in a tabloid, the makers of Aashiqui franchise will start work on the third instalment once everything gets normal once again.

A source told the tabloid, “Aashiqui is special for Bhushan (Kumar) as it’s among the most successful romantic franchises. Like the earlier two films, this one too will be a musical, with an intense love story in its backdrop.”

But well, not just Aashiqui 3, Bhushan Kumar is also planning to turn Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin into a franchise. The source said, “It’s another simplistic musical love story, a genre that has taken a backseat. Both films will take off when things get back to normal.”

Bhushan confirmed the news and stated, “Yes, Aashiqui and Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin are great franchises to take forward. Both films were big hits back in the day and it’s a great responsibility to carry my father’s legacy forward.”

Well, we wonder if Aashiqui 3 will still feature Alia and Sidharth, and we are surely keen to know which actors will star in Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin 2. The 1991 release starred Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles. It was also directed by Mahesh Bhatt.

Polls suggest Labour could lose several London boroughs, increasing pressure on Sadiq Khan

Highlights

  • Labour currently controls 21 of 32 London boroughs.
  • Greens favoured in inner London areas like Hackney.
  • Reform UK could surpass Conservatives in outer boroughs.
Labour could lose control of several London boroughs in the upcoming local elections on May 7, according to recent polling data.
This would significantly impact mayor Sadiq Khan's ability to implement policies across the capital.

Labour currently controls 21 of London's 32 town halls. However, a YouGov poll suggests the party will only have the largest vote share in 15 boroughs after the elections.

Analysis from pollsters More in Common shows the Green Party and Reform UK are set to make major gains.
